This blog comes to you from one of our incredible Connected100 Business Club members, Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO).

Established in 1925, BPO is a professional orchestra performing bold, creative programmes every year at Brighton Dome and across Sussex. Now stepping into their second century, they’ve just announced an electrifying 2025–26 season, packed with world-class soloists, showstopping concerts, and something for everyone, whether you’re a lifelong classical fan or a curious first-timer.

A Season Full of Variety

ree

From Mozart to Mahler, jazz trumpet to Brazilian percussion, and film music to a showstopping family finale, BPO is back with world-class soloists and something for everyone in its 2025-26 concerts – now on sale!

You’ll hear Rachmaninoff’s Everest of a piano concerto, Mahler’s mighty 5th symphony, storm and sunshine from Mozart, and Vivaldi via Max Richter. A rich vein of English music sees Britten mingling with the ethereal beauties of John Tavener, Delius and Vaughan Williams. Michael Nyman’s film scores are celebrated alongside Wynton Marsalis’ fabulous jazz concerto for trumpet.

World-Class Soloists

There’ll be a host of classical stars; look out for celebrated tenor Mark Padmore, prize-winning pianist Junyan Chen and Classical Brits cellist Guy Johnston. Alise Siliņa puts accordion at centre-stage, and Adriano Adewale serves up explosive Brazilian percussion in a kaleidoscopic finale for all ages: a tour of the orchestra, musical fantasies from Mussorgsky and Stravinsky, and unbridled orchestral partying!

Festive Highlights

Christmas treats include Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker and the sell-out A Christmas Carol, narrated by Alistair McGowan and this year visiting three different venues in Kemptown, Petworth and Lewes.

New for 2025–26: Brighton College Collaboration

ree

New for 2025-26 is an exciting collaboration with Brighton College: three chamber concerts, each accompanied by a masterclass for students. Joanna MacGregor opens the series in September with a scintillating piano recital of cool Philip Glass, fiery Liszt and Mussorgsky’s monumental Pictures at an Exhibition.
