Brighton in January: Keeping you Connected

Oh, it's not all doom and gloom. Brighton shines brilliantly every time of year. January might require a bit more coaxing to leave the comfort of your home, but we're here to tempt you out. Brighton's January events are a perfect antidote to the seasonal blues, so let's kick those sorrows to the curb and step out into the excitement of the city.

Setting the New Year Intentions

We’re kicking off the year with an inspiring Vision Board 2024 Masterclass. This is your chance to set your intentions and goals for the new year in a creative and tangible way. This session, led by the wonderful self-love coach and mindset mentor, Chloe Stephens, ensures you’ll be in good hands and receive supportive guidance.

The Vision Board 2024 Masterclass is taking place upstairs at The Joker on Thursday, 4 January. Find out more about this event.

Roast Royalty in Kemptown

Our Sunday Roast Tours continue with a visit to Kemptown’s best-kept secret, The Daddylonglegs. This restaurant and bar have undergone a huge transformation in the last few years and is now a hotspot for live music, top-notch cuisine, and, of course, an outstanding Sunday roast.

We’ve secured the private dining spot for a two-course lunch, with bubbles, on Sunday, 7 January. Expect good things! Join us for the feast.

Are You the Wiff-Waff Wizz?

We can’t get enough of the ping pong table at The North Laine Brewhouse. While the weather is rubbish, we still need our "exercise," so we’re going back for round two. Fancy your chances of claiming the title of the Wiff-Waff Wizz?

This event is booked for Wednesday, 10 January. There’ll be a free welcome drink, soft drinks for those doing a dry-January, and undoubtedly - lots of laughs. Let’s play ping pong.

Opening Night Party Exclusive

We’re launching our partnership with Brighton’s Helm Gallery. Helm are leaders in cutting-edge contemporary artwork, including rare prints, sculptures, and original pieces. While this party isn’t in our honour, we do have exclusive invites to the launch party of their newest exhibition, Margo In Margate.

Margo, a rising star in the UK contemporary arts scene, has quickly gained prominence. Her art is a blend of optimism and coastal hues, perfect for a January uplift. This is a member-only event taking place on Friday, 12 January.

Mid-Month Brainpower

Landing in the middle of the month with a brain-powered social. A pub quiz is easily one of my favourite things to do in Brighton in January - I've never been good at a pub quiz, but that won't stop me from trying!

We’re heading to the Argyle Arms for their popular quiz night on Wednesday, 17 January. So far we haven’t won, but with your help, this might be our month! Get involved.

Private Movie Screenings

This January 24th, join us at Dalton's Showroom and Bar for a nostalgic movie night. We're kickstarting this exciting partnership with a screening of the classic 'Dirty Dancing', followed by the whimsical 'Beetlejuice'. Expect a cosy atmosphere, complimentary welcome drinks, and optional pizzas during the interval. It's more than a movie night; it's a chance to relive the 80s, sing along to iconic moments, and keep the January blues at bay. Book your tickets.

Murmuration Station

Experience the awe-inspiring spectacle of a murmuration at Palace Pier. Join us at Palm Court on Sunday, 28 January, to witness thousands of starlings dance in unison against the dusky sky. Palm Court offers the perfect vantage point, sheltered yet open, allowing you to fully immerse in this enchanting experience. Join our crew.

Sip, Savour the Best

Cap off January in style with an exquisite wine tasting event at Brighton Wine Cellar. On Wednesday, 31 January, indulge in a showcase of five wines paired with local cheese and charcuterie. Hosted by our in-house experts, you'll learn about various wine production methods and how to discern those signature notes in each sip.

That's a wrap on January. Share your stories, spread the word, and above all stay connected.
